ÆLV is not a lamp. It’s a spectral light instrument.
Inside, we use 8 independent unique LED channels, blended perceptually, not numerically, to create light that feels natural, cinematic, and biologically relevant.
Outside, buildings see something very simple: on, off, dim, scenes, fully compatible with existing systems like DALI and BMS.
So to the building, ÆLV looks normal. In reality, it’s playing a spectral composition based on 72 trillion combinations.

We glance at metrics sometimes, but they don’t guide us. We use the shape of the spectrum as our main compass.

With ÆLV we mix, stack and de‑organise light. Technically, our LED engine has three uncommon features:
No rigid clusters
We don’t build repetitive RGBLA or RGBWW clusters with equal quantities of each emitter and then “fix” it with DMX or DALI. Instead, we start from what we want in warm light (FLAME), in daylight, and in between – and we distribute the LEDs in a non‑repeating pattern across the PCB. There is no visible grid.
An entropic composition
Our LED placement is intentionally non‑periodic. There is no simple repetition. Like in real life: light from the sun scatters in the sky and clouds, then bounces off buildings, trees, windows, streets, people. It is the mix of all these incidents, reflections and accidents that makes things look real. ÆLV tries to recreate that kind of richness.
We are not chasing maximum efficiency. We create a welcoming light, under which it feels good to have a cup of tea, read the newspaper, work, or even fall asleep.
Stacked, overlapping spectra
We combine multiple white LEDs that share parts of their spectral power distribution. This smooths out the light and makes it feel more natural. Who puts a warm white inside a daylight blend? ÆLV. Who puts lime into a FLAME‑like light? ÆLV The result is a spectrum that is fuller and softer than a single white channel.

The Casambi hardware, combined with a simple button interface, makes an engine like ÆLV effortless to use. There may be billions of possible combinations; we curate just a few scenes that matter.
